WWE Hall of Famer, Bret Hart was interviewed this week by Brian Fritz of AOL Fanhouse. In the interview he mentioned Melina, who seems to be his favourite Diva going by how many times he has praised her this year. Here is what he said below:

“The girls in wrestling are also quite impressive. The lady wrestlers of today are a billion miles ahead of the lady wrestlers of 20, 30 years ago. They’ve really taken it up a notch. Melina and so many of these young girls are such fantastic performers and hard workers.”

Former WWE Diva Katie Lea (real name Katarina Waters), who was released back in April, recently had an audio interview with women’s wrestling site Diva-Dirt.com. Thanks for MelinaHQ.org, here is a written translation of what she had to say:

Jennifer (DD): Going back to when you were transitioning to the WWE, was there anybody on the roster that you didn’t get to work with, that you would have liked to do a feud or storyline with?

KW: I don’t know, let me think. Well, actually a few! I mean, I would have liked to have a feud with maybe Gail or Eve, you know? Someone like that. I always enjoyed working with Alicia Fox too, you know? When she was on ECW, when she first started on ECW, It would have been nice to maybe have a little thing going on between us, rather than just the couple of matches that we had.

Eric (DD): How was that on ECW? Because I noticed that happened a little bit, where you would get a match with a girl, and then they would kinda drop it. Are there any other matches that you wished could have developed there? Or feuds besides Alicia Fox?

KW: On ECW specifically?

Eric (DD): Or in General.

KW: Well on ECW, there was never really a lot of girls, I mean really after I answered that question, a whole bunch of other names popped into my head, Melina is an obvious one. We had a few matches on a houseshow loop one time, we worked together real great, so that would have been great obviously.

Jim Ross has posted a new edition of The Ross Report on his WWE Universe profile. In this edition, he talks about and make predictions for SummerSlam this Sunday. Here’s his take on Melina’s upcoming bout with Alicia Fox for the Divas Championship:

Can A. Fox retain her title at SummerSlam?

Not if Melina has a vote and she does. A. Fox is physically much stronger, but Melina seems to have the champion’s number (lots of guys wish they had Alicia’s number), and has more championship match experience than Ms. Fox. I like Melina to win but Fox retaining by the skin ‘o her teeth wouldn’t shock me. FYI … there is no truth to the ‘dirt’ that Jersey Shore’s Snookie is being brought in to referee this bout. That might require Joey Styles to come out of retirement and in his best, most extreme shriek give us all a classic “CATFIGHT!!”

Former WWE Diva and 7-time Women’s Champion, Trish Stratus had an interview with The Wrestler magazine and had the following to say about Melina:

On the “next” Trish: “When I saw Melina debut with M-N-M, I remember thinking that was the new T&A. But she was so much sexier than me, when she came in with that split! I was like, ‘Damn, that is hot!’”

You were heavily involved in the previous generation of Divas, and then you were still around for the newer stars such as Mickie James & Melina. Who were some of the women you thought had a lot of progress?
Melina reminded me of myself because she started as a valet, which gave her the time to develop her character and transition to wrestling. When I saw Melina debut with MNM, I remember thinking that was the new T&A. But she was much sexier than me, when she came in with that split! I was like “Damn, that is hot!”

From T&A to MNM- they didn’t go far did they?
I’ve been waiting for Melina to develop, and I have no doubt that she will- but she’s had back luck along the way. Just as her momentum gets going, injuries take her out. She’s called me for advice and visited me in Toronto a couple of times, and we’ve done yoga together. If you’ve noticed, she’s integrated the Ma-Trish – my back-bridge ducking maneuver- into her repertoire. I derived that from my yoga.

The guys over at Diva-Fiva.com were able to conduct an interview with former WWE Diva and Melina in-ring rival  Candice Michelle, and Candice mentioned Melina in a few of the questions asked by fans! For those of you who don’t know, Candice and Melina had a fued many bouts over the Women’s Title in 2007. Read below.

Which current WWE diva is the most impressive to you?

CM: I am really Proud of Michelle McCool. I think she has paved a way on Smackdown that not many believed she would! She has really stepped it up and helped many others bring out there A game! Melina is always amazing with her innovative style! Layla has so much personality and makes me laugh, I love watching that girl! Super Proud of the new Divas Champion, Eve, reminds me of my days there!

How did it feel working with divas like Melina, Beth & Mickie?

CM: It was awesome working with these Divas! The great thing was that they were all more experienced wrestlers than I was. It made me work harder to become better to be in the ring with them. I learned a lot through them and with them and knew that if I was dedicated, I could put on some great matches with them, and that we did!!
