WWE Magazine has named the Beth Phoenix vs Melina ‘I Quit’ Match at One Night Stand 2008 as an ‘Extremely Underrated’ match in the May 2010 issue. The feature looks at some of the stipulation matches that have perhaps been overlooked by WWE fans.
For the first-ever Divas I Quit match, these two female warriors forewent the usual weapons and foreign objects in favour of submission holds and brute strength. Watch it. You will not believe the shapes you can bend a person into.
Gotta say, I couldn’t agree more! This is what women’s wrestling is all about, and it shows what they can really do. Kudos to WWE Magazine for including it to the feature, as it is one of Melina’s best matches of all time, and is one that should be highly recognised.
